NTLK eMate power adapter (and other questions)

I just bought 3 eMates on saturday. They are all unused and came with
cdr-copies of the eMate Connectivity CD, a serial cable and a power adapter.
This last item is the problem: it is providing 7.5 V/1.33A. When having the
eMates connected a warning is displayed after +/- 1 minute, saying "The
adapter is providing too much power. The battery cannot be charged with this
adapter."
What can I do? The shop told me that charging would be possible when the
backlighting is on. It isn`t. I really don`t want to give the eMates back as
they were cheap, new, and after working on MP130 for 2 years exactly what I
need. Is it save to buy any adapter providing 7.5V at 1.24A max. (As the
label on the eMate sais)?
I don`t have a credit card, so ordering the original from NewtoOz, outpost
or smalldog would be rather pricy (I live in Holland).

Another question: Is there some ressources on the internet that are
specialised in eMate-questions? I found out that some fave packages of mine don`t
make sense on the eMate.
Is there a way to get different functions on the emate keys? It would be
perfect fr me to have Names and Dates on the Send/Receive-Buttons as I don`t
use the beam a lot...
I need to have instant access on these two apps.

Does anyone know about ActionNames? The website sais it`s not supported
any longer. But I want it... Is there another names enhancement that is
comparable and cheap?

Thanks a lot
Andreas
