Whoa! Hold on there! The Happy99 virus extremely common. I maintain a
network with 75 computers all accessing the internet and have dealt with it
plenty of times. It's NOT, repeat NOT sent maliciously by the sender. It
comes into someone's system without their knowledge when they innocently
open an attachment on some email that THEY receive. The virus then attaches
itself to innocent email to other people. This user almost certainly had no
idea that he was sending us a virus-laden email and is probably mortified
and confused by what has happened to him over the last day or so. The last
thing we need to do is to cream him with trying to get him kicked off his
ISP! If you really care so deeply about viruses, send the guy an email
explaining what he can do to clean up his system and how to avoid letting it
happen again (just ask him not to respond back to you, of course). As a Mac
user, you were never even at risk, of course, nor are you apparently aware
of common viruses and how they behave, so your overreaction is all the more
inappropriate. Please send a follow-up note to Netcom asking them to ignore
your previous email.
