You're mistaken.
Current WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 and similar cards are faster than standard
Ethernet. My WaveLAN 802.11 Silver Turbo card and AirPort (which
contains the same card) is 11Mbps. 10-Base-T Ethernet is only 10Mbps.
Maybe you're thinking of the older 2Mbps 802.11 cards...but even those
should have enough umph for MP3s.
