No this isn't normal, to make sure I even kept on an (upgraded) eMate for
over an hour and opened the cover to check on the temperature on the chips
themselves, none of them really warm up noticeably, none of them heat up at
all.
So I think that the conclusion that you have a faulty chip is justified.
