Did you check to see what is the exact version you have on your 130? Open
"Extras", tap the "i" button, then select "Memory Info". A little window will
open and you will read something like: "ROM Version 2.0 (<system version
here>)". If you don't get the number "516263", it means that the update, indeed,
is not for your particular Newton model. For instance, a MessagePad 120 running
version 2.0 of the Newton OS won't use the same system patch than a MessagePad
130, also running version 2.0 of the Newton OS. More specifically, a, say,
german MessagePad 130 running NOS 2.0 won't use the same system patch than a
US-based model. That's why system patches usually tell you from what version
they're patching. So, you need to find out what is the exact system version on
your MessagePad 130.
Oh, and if someone is wondering why is this, I guess that's because the ROMs are
not exactly the same for 2 different models of Newton running the same OS
version. Same goes for a localized Newton.
