I agree with Robert (Benshop). It sounds as though there is something undocumented and interesting going on here. If it's possible to install more RAM without soldering, it would be really neat! So please let us know what the RAM reading is in the Extras drawer, what exactly did you install (card, chips, replacing the chips on the card?) and where did you buy/get what you installed?

wrong slot and your 2000 was still working afterwards, so can you give us some more details, like did you boot normally, how much RAM and Heap you have etc.
