"pkgX" is the creator code of the Newton Package Installer, "1NCU" is
NCU. It doesn't matter much which one you use.

Don't use drag&drop when converting file type and creator codes with
ResEdit, as it would attempt to open its resource fork, and create one if
it hasn't got one (no harm done, but unnecessary). Instead, open ResEdit,
then choose "File/Get File/Folder Info..." and select the file you want
to modify.

I prefer File Fanatic or TypeShuffler for this.
