When I finally retire the PowerBook G3/250 I'm typing this on, that's
what's going to happen to the it. It'll become part of my living room
stereo/entertainment system, with iTunes and my various bay drives and
hard drives it'll make a great MP3 system. It's a great looking machine
and it's black like most stereo components (including mine). Plus I can
sync up my iPod with it via a Firewire PCMCIA card I bought and use it's
TV video out capabilities and a wireless USB trackball I have to control
it remotely and see it's display on my TV if I want thru my satellite
dish's "aux input" on Channel 0. I have DVD player and CD player bay
drives for it too. I'm also thinking X-10 controller, as well. Oh, the
possibilities! I could even serve MP3s wirelessly if I want (WaveLAN
card; wish I had 3 card slots.....)

You too, eh? I've got quite a pile of Quadra's (700, 610's, 650, 950)
too, and about 5 or 6 IIci's and IIcx's. Plus various old SE/30's, an
original 128 upgraded to a Plus, various ancient PowerBooks, and so on.
Even an old NCR Tablet PC running PenPoint OS. Not to mention 4 Newtons
and various old Sharp and Casio organizers and an old Palm IIIx. I know
you've got quite a collection of old computers, much more than mine.

I just gave a Quadra 610 to the father of a friend of mine, as an upgrade
from his tiny little Mac LC which just couldn't deal with AOL anymore (he
was running 2.7 on a screen smaller than 640x480). Got him up to version
4.0, at least.

I saw a photo in the Portland MUG's newsletter a while back where someone
had made a couch out of old Mac II and IIx sized desktops. Pretty cool,
actually.
