This is the same way the keyboard works in the MP120/MP130. It always must
be connected prior to power-on in order to be recognized.

Are you sure the board is fully seated? It required a bit o'force to seat
fully in my MP2000. I have a gap of about .020", but the door snaps closed
perfectly. Be sure you've got the board pressed down all the way.
