I have to PCMCIA modems. One is a Megaertz CruiseCard 28.8 the other is a
56k generic.
Last night, I was using the 56k modem perfectly well, using the script 28k
and faster. Later that evening, I pulled out the card to put in the Ethernet
card to give it a try. Then put the modem back in an all of a sudden got the
following error:
"There is a problem with this card. (This memory card could not be
formatted. (This memory card is write protected.))"
So I put the Megahertz in and it works with the standard "Communication Card
has be inserted) greeting. I remove the Megahertz, and try the 56k again,
and I get the same memory error message.
WHen I try to dialout, no luck with the 56k, but the 28k still works.
Any ideas? Is this related to the Implant problem? The only reason I
question if it is that it has been working fine till late last night. And it
worked fine even on the previous Implant. Also, I just tried another 56k
(the exact same model, just another backup I had) and it did the same exact
thing.
Thanks!
Drew
