it seem s that we have exactly the same problem: I also try to get Cadenza working with LN 5.
As far as I know up to now the Cadenza version for the Newt can be installed only on LN 4.x.
And in fact I experienced the same behavior as you did, trying to install Cadenza on LN 5.
Some people reported that it was no problem to upgrade from LN 4 to LN 5 having Cadenza installed.
I do not believe that because the design template of LN 5 is definitive different from that of LN 4.
BUT the good news:
LN 4 and LN 5 can be installed on the same machine without interference.
You have to create a LN 4 replication of the databases you want to synch with your Newt.
I will try to install Cadenza on and old machine running LN 4 as soon as I have time.
Let us keep in touch.
Finally I append some information I got from an LN expert:

Bei uns wurde jetzt generell auf LN 5 umgestellt.
Kann ich dann trotzdem von einem LN 4 client auf meine (LN 5) DB
zugreifen, oder geht es vielleicht andersherum, dass ich von LN 5 aus eine
mit LN 4 lesbare Replikation erstelle?

Admin überzeugen, daß er das Design nicht ändert, wenn er von LN4 auf 5
geht.
Ansonsten mußt Du unter LN4 mit einer lokalen LN4 Replik arbeiten und nur
die Server DB auf LN 5 wechseln (müßte gehen!?). Dann muß in der CDZ DM die
lokale Replik als Ziel DB eingetragen werden und vor und nach dem
Notes-Newton Abgleich mit dem Server repliziert werden. In diesem Fall kann
unter LN4 die Option 'Share Password' gesetzt sein. Das spart einmal PW
eingeben.
Also:
wenn die DB auf einem Server liegt, spielt es keine Rolle in welchem Format
Sie ist - das Ganze ist abwärtskompatibel.
Wenn Du eine Server R5 DB (ODS41) nach lokal replizierst, bin ich nicht
sicher, ob sie bei einem 4er Client automatisch nach R4 (ODS20) konvertiert
wird.... sollte aber.
Um sicher zu gehen, kannst Du auf dem Server vorher mit einem compact -R
(load compact -R dbname.nsf) die R5 DB wieder nach R4 konvertieren.
Eine R5 DB auf einem Server kannst Du dann problemlos mit einer R4 Replik
replizieren.
Somit wird Dein Cadenza mit lokalem LN4 auf die Server LN5 DB zugreifen
können.
Das ganze ist ungetestet und somit ohne Garantie. Bitte erst in einer
Testumgebung prüfen!!

Betreff: [NTLK] Cadenza and Lotus Notes R5
Is there any way to use Cadenza with Lotus Notes R5 ?
I keep getting a warning during installation telling me that the setup can't find the Lotus Notes program directory, although I point it to the right directory.
