Folks...
I wasn't able to find my mom and dad's German copy of
LOTR (it's really cool. The maps are in color and
there are further illustrations that head each
chapter. It's usually a iconic depiction of the main
character in that particular chapter...darn!
But I did find my paperback copy of LOTR from the
British publishers Allen and Unwin LTD. I believe this
is the 7th impression in 1971. It does have the Maps
in the book in line-art, so as soon as I can figure
out a way of scanning them without destroying the
book, I'll put them in a Newton Press book and publish
them as well.
