A few things wrong here:
1. "implanted" sounds a little invasive. It gets plugged in to an internal
connector.
2. It doesn't get punched out- you just slide out the cover.
3. You can't plug an ADB cable into it. It's a standard RS422 mini din8
(nine actually, external power)
4. Apple didn't develop it. A independent PCB engineer named David
Humphries was kind enough to fab and sell it to Newton owners.
