Actually, the connectors ARE the same ones used in the MP1x0
models.
They are modified by removing the shielding and milling a step in
the top.
This is done so that it will fit in the available slot. Also,
changing the connector to anything other than a mini-din will
necessitate changing all that plugs into it.
The original concept was to be able to fit the SER-001 without
any modification to the MP2k. As the design evolves that may
change but not to the extent that all peripherals need to be
re-plugged also.
