Most older, major printers should work with the Print Pack. Essentially,
what the print pack is is a serial to Parallel converter with software
drivers to make it all work. The original Print Pack was a converter with
the drivers installed in the adapter. When you plugged it in, it installed
the drivers on the Newton. The second version was software that you manually
installed, and that worked with both the version 1 hardware and with the
version 2. Even better, version 2 of the software also works with the
hardware, also produced by the same company, called Power Print, that was
intended for Macintosh computers. I understand that only the Power Print
adapters made by the original manufacturer--GDT, work with the software
Print Pack 2. I have one of these, and it works fine with my Newton and
Epson Color Stylus 900.
