You know, most modern PC sound cards will let you do that. It's called
full duplex mode - playing and recording at the same time. Heck, a few
nights ago I discovered my sound card (the amazing Creative Ensoniq
AudioPCI) can use the wave output as a recording input - totally within
the card, no external cables. Very handy. Totally digital.
