you can find FileTyper (which includes MakeAutoTyper):

(though that site not responding when I just checked;
and various Mac archives)

if you'd just like a simple Mac drag&drop package type fixer, you can use:
  http://www.kagi.com/weyer/#PackType
(which I created eons ago using MakeAutoTyper)
works fine on OS 9 [dunno about OS X]
