I was able to. I'm not sure what it was supposed to look like, but there
wasn't anything obviously wrong in there (like a handful of high-ASCII
characters where text should be, for example).

You're right - I did. It worked fine for a try or two, then locked hard.
As mentioned earlier, deleting the entire Notes soup and starting over
seems to have done the trick.
I wonder if the Notes soup's index didn't get scribbled on, which is why
nothing could be pulled up natively.
