If anyone out there has had this problem I sure could use a solution....I
did the inadvisable this last weekend..I took my Newton 2100 home without my
adapter to recharge the batteries....well, I was involved in a Newton
Version of a book and was so engrossed in the book that ignored the low
battery warning one time too many...the last time it came up my Newton
screen went blank and no amount of coaxing could get it to come on
again...so I consulted the FAQ's (yes, I knew enough to do that before
bothering you fine people on the list) and did all that was suggested in
restarting a Newton that has powered down unexpectedly...the bottom line is
this..I can get the Newton to power up and it goes through the motions of
coming back to life but will not respond to the stylus on the screen. I get
to various windows that require a response and the Newton will not react to
my stylus..it is as though it is frozen...Now I have done this at least a
dozen times with different variations as to the Newton firing up, including
the request for a yes or no on a complete brain wipe...no matter where I
place the stylus there is no indication of the screen receiving any
pressure. Does anyone have a suggestion, short of bronzing my Newton for
future posterity. Thanks for any help. I only get the digest version so I
won't be responding to individual replies until I read them on the daily
digest issues.
