Well, I just flew Jet Blue RT to Florida.
The TV's in the seatbacks were on from the moment I sat down at the gate,
through taxi, take off and landing, right back to the gate. Both ways,
too. I'd think that the monitors in most planes are turned off if they
come down from the overheads, as turbulence might cause problems either
with loosening them, or smacking a badly belted passenger on the head - I'm
guessing it has nothing to do with the electronics.
