It will have to have dimension of about 10 x 16". The normal Newton lid
sized units are very likely safe but I wouldn't recommend to leave them
connected and unattended in the bright sun.
BTW, I went now solar too. I got a quite strong panel which was able to
charge my MP2100 accu with indirect sunlight in CH-spring (!) within a half
hour.
