First of all, the Newton OS is NOTHING like the Palm. Its far superior.
There is no way to run Palm programs on the Newton. However, one of the
Newton's biggest markets was health care and many programs were written
to run on it. You would need to define much better what you mean by
"running drug information programs". If you need current databases for
drugs, that's likely to be out of the question. If you intend to enter
information into a drug database, that could be possible and many
programs are stored for medical use on Newton software servers, the
biggest being www.unna.org. Try this directory:
