Damn! You're right. I brain-cramped. My bad.

OK.. so what about the ssh algorithms in OpenSSH. Couldn't they somehow be
isolated and wrapped into a similar 'tunnel' to use with PT100? IOW, just have
it be the localhost telnet deamon or 'engine' acting as a passthrough back and
forth for PT100.

I'm not saying it would be easy. Just wondering if that's doable...
