I wasn't successful either, but it could be that this character isn't
defined within the character sets of the built in Newton typefaces. The
Lslash and lslash glyphs are accessible on a Mac by typing control-c and
control-d respectively. These same keystrokes on the Newton do not
produce the proper characters. I know that the character encoding is
different between Mac and Newton, but my guess is that these particular
glyphs do not exist in the character table.
