Well, I can attest to UUNET's dialup ubiquity and
quality (see my NPDS server for evidence of my
association. See if YOU can spot it!)
I've used UUNET for several years now and one thing is
that they have phone numbers just about everywhere you
would care to be, either in the United States or
overseas. And it's all covered. Plus their POP and
SMTP are valid anywhere. And, if you're anything like
me, you want to do your own email, you can have your
dialup email address feed into your home server.
The only down side is that your username (and by
definition your email name) is a confusing series of
numbers and letters that makes little sense to the
layman. On the plus side though, you can request an
alias...if it's not already taken.
