For what it's worth, I've been able to use my 3Com card while accellerated.
It's a 3C589D and it works fine. I had originally thought that it did not
work, and figured out what led to that misconception: When inserted, it
gives an error (-48807). I'd see the error and give up.
Now I know better. Ignore the error and it works fine.
Of course, your mileage may vary.
