Dredging up the old Dragon Systems voice recognition thread.
It appears I will never get anything from Dragon. I have tried for
almost 3 years, even going as far as communicating with the original
owners who sold it to L&H.
Anyway, here's a thought about voice control, read it through and
someone far better than me at coding please implement it.
1) Dragon Demo works on the MP2100, thanks to several patches; I forgot
who, but we all owe you a big debt.
2) One of the patches allows Dragon Demo to be active in any app, such
as "Notes"; so if you say a state name (all it recognizes, plus zip
codes) "Connecticut" the word appears in a note.
3) What if someone coded a background app that would be looking for the
words recognized by Dragon, and would act on them. A prefs slip would
allow you to choose the words.
4) Ex: saying "Ohio" would open the Names app; saying "Michigan" the
Dates; saying "Maine" would shut off the Newton, etc.
What do you think? I mean besides the overall brilliance of the concept,
is it workable?
