Maybe we should pull apart a Newton keyboard and see what's inside. If it
has a similar arrangement of ribbon cables that go into a serial converter,
then maybe the serial converter could be yanked out of the regular keyboard,
stuck onto a salvaged eMate keyboard, and made to work?
I have a Newton keyboard here, but I haven't gotten around to opening it up
yet.
