Personally, I would rather take pride in what the human species as a whole
has accomplished rather than the inhabitants of any one particular nation.
Nationalism is a concept which is well past its sell by date IMHO.

One can enjoy a football match for the artistry of the game, irrespective of
which teams are playing. Having said that, as an Englishman in Germany, I
will be routing for England if they eventually meet Germany in the current
competition!
