Seems like everyone else has told you how easy it is to setup a a mixed
wireless network but the the other question is, Is it worth the cost? I am
in a similar situation with the fully house already wired for 10/100
Ethernet. To add wireless on top of it made no sense cost wise. Would need
to add a base station and cards to three laptops. I have a 50ft Ethernet
cable so I can sit out on the back deck and surf when I want to. Yes the
cord is a hassle at times but it is a lot cheaper than a base station and
card.
