Marco, Laurent,
Thank you for the suggestions, I will check the Farralon
connector/dongle for continuity, or I might just be able to find
something over in the IT department to swap it with.
I would like to do a hard reset, and just put a few of the most
important programs back on my Newton, but I don't have a recent backup.
Maybe a soft reset with extensions off will help me connect.
As for the iMac, I thought those were the settings that I was using. I
will try again soon.
Thanks,
Josh

I assume that you have error messages too on the Newton, do you? Did you
ever try a brain wipe? And are you shure that your fan out cable of the
ethernet card is okay? I had similar problems twice, one time it was
corrupted internal settings of the Newton and the other time a wire
inside
the connector which goes into the Ethernet card was broken. The wire I
could
cut and re-solder but for the software the brain wipe took longer...
For the broken wire the symtoms were similar: I could see everything in
the
ethernet but there was no bi-directional communication possible.

On your fiancee's iMac, make sure that AppleTalk is "ON", and make sure it's configured to use "Ethernet" and nothing else.
I can't help you with BasiliskII...
