If the card slip comes up when you insert the card, then the driver has
recognized the card, therefore it is not a problem with your card or the
driver. You might have bad Internet settings, you might have two versions
of NIE installed (I have seen a Newton with both 1.1 and 2.0 installed,
bad news)...
