It looks like (our hero) Hiroshi Noguchi has posted a new version, beta1, of
his WaveLAN driver for Newton:

From his Web page, it appears he now supports:

* Selection of connection mode
* Selection of broadcast channel
* Selection of network name

It also outlines his future plans:

* support of encryption (WEP)
* view of signal strength
* support of Intersil like cards
* auto scanning of wave-LAN network
* low power consumption mode
