I would hazard a guess that they used the Reset applet to counter
-10061 errors. Just imagine if you were running a corporate sales
fleet with MP2100s and you weren't up on the Newton "community" and
its discussion of the problem and the workarounds that emerged; you
had just bought a bunch of these heavily-hyped devices to automate
your staff. Then you start getting complaints from the field about
the -10061 errors. Apple is clueless, so as a workaround you develop
a little reset applet to allow your staff to cope.
Betcha anything that these staff were using the reset applet every
time they got a -10061 error.
