Re: [NTLK] What would have happened to PDA market if Apple had wa ited?

I owned an HP95LX for some time back when I was in high school and the=
Newtons were new. A friend of mine had an HP200LX (and a Newton 100, and=
later a 110, and 120, lucky punk). The tiny keyboard was a bit difficult=
to use but I successfully took notes on it. A fun little device, really,=
especially when I couldn't afford a Newton. It ran DOS 5, which was=
pretty nifty for something so little. If I recall correctly, it had a=
PCMCIA type II slot, too, as well as IR data transfer. You could have run=
one of those micro hard drives on it, given enough juice and drivers (if=
any were needed). For ease of use, though, it didn't match up to the=
MP100s my friends had. I was always bugging them to let me borrow the=
things. I didn't own my own MP130 until a few years later, and very=
recently, an UMP2000 which I am in the process of trading in for a brand=
 new MP2100 through GEM.

The kicker, though? Those little HP computers are still expensive. On=
Ebay right now, someone wants $500 for their HP200LX. I sold my 95LX a=
 few years ago for $75.=
