This is completly right. I think all solar panels are useful where it is
sunny and the panel is mounted somewhere exposed to the sun and where no
other source of electricity is available. I think of a sailboat but even
there one has probably a small generator. Another application would be
hiking during several days and far from mains and with the need of GPS
navigation or other radio comm.
