It depends on which upgrade you have. Ideally, you will have 4MB of DRAM (the
"System RAM") and 4MB of Flash RAM storage (the "Internal" store) total after
the upgrade. I believe some of the older upgrades only upgraded the DRAM and
not the flash.
The "speed increase" is supposed to come because with an upgrade chip involved, the eMate automatically starts using 32-b=
it addressing. Others with
the upgrade can comment on the speed increase, if any.

How can I tell if my eMate has the memory upgrade? It shows 3972k under
System Ram installed, which I think is more than the base eMate. But I also
thought the upgrade would make it run faster, which it really doesn't seem
