I used to receive regular updates from Bob Ellison at Smart Dog Software
up until October 2000. At that time, there were a few transitions at his
small company which no doubt contributed to the lack of updates since.
Here is an excerpt from the last update email I received:

Perhaps we should attempt to convince Bob, through a friendly email
campaign, that releasing the source to BackTalk into the Newton Community
would be a good thing to consider - given that he apparently has little
or not time to dedicate to the project anymore.

I really hate to see something as promising as BackTalk just fade away.
