It also moves icons around when you're trying to click one, which, as
far as I can tell, is a big no-no as far interface design goes. Though
it could be argued that as you move closer to the icon you want to
click, it moves slightly closer to you and at the same time becomes a
larger clickable-area, eliminating any moving-icon-related badness...

I leave my magnification off, but I don't mind horribly when it's on.
I think I'll turn it on for fun now and see if it bothers me enough to
switch it off.
