To the best of my knowledge there's an original OMP labeled "Siemens" attached
to the phone. You should be able to connect it through the standard Newton - PC
cable, but you will have to rip it off the modem because there's just one serial
port.

All of these programs can connect to "a" Newton, but not all to the same
model. You can use NCK with all Newtons up to the MP120 OS1.3, not
on later models. You can use NBU with all models, but only
for backup / restore and installing packages. You can use NCU with
all models that have OS2.0 or 2.1, i. e. MP120 os 2.0, all later models
and the eMate.
