The only reason I could imagine is that the reset button does not work, but
this is very unlikely to be the case for both Newts.
This Button IS the HARD RESET in terms of hardware RESET.
Thats why software normally cannot prevent this reset.
But what you describe to be a hard reset is none.
You can force a reset by letting the Newt unpowered for at least 6 hours (to
let the supercap discharge) and then power it again.
