Sorry, I should have mentioned that ... both 2100s, so lots of heap. Note
that it's not just that I can't display the document; the error occurs when
trying just to list its name in overview mode. And in case I wasn't clear
about this: the import process itself seems to go OK -- no error messages or
other abnormal behaviour there.
