This is wrong... The second dimm socket is directly below the first...
  It is on the opposite side of the processor card. All you have to do,
over and above installing the regular (top) dimm is to pull up the
processor card. Then the second dimm socket is apparent.

It's a good idea to have a competent tech do any laptop upgrade as they
are kind of fragile.

Actually only 8 sockets fo 1gig total RAM possible.
