PDB is generically a Palm app (Palm database?). some .pdb files are Palm
ebooks -- in fact there are many different Palm ebook formats (many
proprietary/undocumented). the PilotDoc plugin for Newt's Cape
recognizes/converts/displays a couple of types: a standard text type
"TEXt/REAd" and one image type "vIMG/View".
to transfer the .pdb files to your Newton:

email attachment via SimpleMail
terminal emulator transfer, e.g, EETransfer
