I have a two MP 120's, one 110 and one 100; all use rechargable alkalines...
although they have a finite number of times they can be recharged (like 40 or
so times) I have been pleased w/ the performance, because they hold a charge
longer than NiCd or NiMH....

I once used NiCds in my 100, about 6 years ago... and I don;t recall any
problems liek U described.. I just remember that they did not stay charged
long...
