Oooh. Maybe this is the reason it works for me... I do not use NIE.
I only use the ethernet card for connecting with NCU, for doing backups
or installing packages. The only NIE package I have installed is Newton
Devices. (Well, that and the Wavelan extension.) So I'm not using
TCP/IP or anything fancy.
