I am quite sure Stephanie is right (that Apple decided to rewrite the eMate
ROM string to read 2.1 to avoid requests for upgrades from MP2x000 users),
especially when one considers what happened to Apple's support group with
the NOS 1.xx "upgrade" confusion.
