You will need a Dongle or a cable which incorporates a dongle to
connect serially to a mac. You can get a SER-001

(can't find the link)

this will allow you to connect serially with a regular mac serial cable.

Your other option is an ethernet card for the Newton, but you will
still need some sort of serial connection to load the drivers on the
Newton.
