My power switch has also been getting flaky. I sometimes use the dongle
to turn the Newton on (i.e., just plugging in the dongle). There is
also a sleep switch app. which will turn the Newton off when you tap
the icon. I think I got it at Thorston Lange's site.
Please post if you repair your switch and let us know how it went.
