You were using the latest build, from Nicolas' website, weren't you?
I wonder if some users already reported unfixed issues with ADSP. I
was discussing it with Nicolas who received some bug reports and he
said that except those in the bugs database, they were all fixed.
The thing is that I use an Airport Extreme Base Station and it does
not work well with it (I cannot connect at all unless I run tcpdump
on the Mac or I put the old Graphite base station).

It's been a while since I tested this part, but I recall Nicolas
fixed such a problem before 1.0 release. Please file this bug in the
bugs database (http://bugs.kallisys.com)

Normally, you should be able to install packages, either from the Mac
(did you try dropping the file tapping the toolbar icon or choosing
Install from the menu?) or from the Newton. I'm positive that it
works here, I used it recently to install a couple of packages over
Serial. But I think the problem you have is linked with AppleTalk.
